Spanish Sport Selected to Celebrate the Fourth in Interesting Program at Topanga Beach

Refugio Hernandez Cuco, the most popular bull-fight fighter of Spain, will be the featured attraction of the sensational program lined up for the bull fight and rodeo at Cooper’s Ranch, Topanga Beach, this week-end.

The series of fights started yesterday, and will continue today, tomorrow and Sunday.

Cuco is heralded in Spain as the champion of champions in that country’s most beloved sport—bull fighting—and upon his last appearance there was presented with the King's medal, the highest honor bestowed upon members of his precarious vocation.

Incidentally, Cuco is the same bull fighter that saved a man's life at the Ince studios two weeks ago when a maddened bull broke loose during a scene.

Scores of Mexico’s most prominent picaderos, toreadors and matadors have been chosen to furnish thrills for the spectators. In conjunction with the thrilling bull fights, one of the biggest rodeo programs ever attempted will be presented. Bud Crone, well-known Wild West circus performer, will enter hundreds of his tempered bronchos along with scores of other animals.

A special permit was needed to stage the bull fights and considerable difficulty was encountered to secure this permission;

Thousands who have read in books and witnessed on the screen these prohibited exhibitions, are expected to attend.
